Are there any presets banks available for this wonderful synth ?
I thought some were provided when you buy it...

Thanks !
Where do I put the presets/banks now ?
Is there a special location like "application support" or "vst folder" (OS X) ?
Also, could someone explain to me the extension of preset librairies ?
Normally, would the files be all .fxb or does it depend on the developper ?
Best regards,
Olivier

On PC I put my preset banks in the same folder as the VST .dll's.Aquarius wrote:Where do I put the presets/banks now ?
Can't comment on OSX unfortunately, never used it!Aquarius wrote:Is there a special location like "application support" or "vst folder" (OS X) ?
.fxb files are 'banks' of presets - so if your synth has say 32 presets then the .fxb will contain 32 presets. An .fxp file OTOH is 'one' preset only. Some VST/i's use a custom format though, and I believe Logic has it's own format too.Aquarius wrote:Also, could someone explain to me the extension of preset librairies ?

Ok, but can I regroup them in one folder, let's say "TauPro presets", instead of having them one under another in the vst's plug location ?

The windows version of Tau Pro puts the example bank in a specific folder within the installed directory. You can then move that to anywhere you like on your hard disk, and put additional FXB and FXP files in there if you like.
The Mac version doesn't create a folder for the example bank, when you unstuff you can put the file anywhere you want.

Dave

Many thanks Dave !
Sometimes it's a bit confusing compared to the PT architecture where plugins are categorized in a plugin folder and presets in a plugin settings folder ALL THE TIME !
I realized that with VST developpers, these parameters are left to their own decisions : sometimes, they put files in the aplications support folder, sometimes, in the audio folder, then plugin folder, then vst....even sometimes the factory banks are just named "presets" (Vanguard) !
I'm now getting more into into so forgive me to ask such simple questions !
Best regards,
Olivier

A standard like that could indeed be useful.

32 spanky new sounds in 1 bank for an old workhorse. Dig it out and fire some new life into the nasty bugger
