the technical rules for this month are as follows ...

1 - your track MUST be -

(a) encoded in .mp3 or .ogg format at 128kbps or lower
(b) no longer than 2 minutes running time
(c) named in the format yearmonth-artistname-tracktitle (ie - 0503-artistname---tracktitle.mp3) with AT LEAST the artist and title fields of the ID tag completed (untagged entries will be disqualified)
(d) composed using at least some software plugin instruments or effects
(e) entered into the contest by posting a DIRECT link in this RULES & SUBMISIONS thread (use the GOSSIP thread for everything else)
(f) submitted before the deadline (6pm GMT on thursday 24th march)

2 - your track SHOULD be -

(a) composed specifically for this contest
(b) original material / remix / or hybrid in any style

3 - only one entry per person - no resubmissions without permission from the moderator

4 - any tracks not adhering to these rules will be strictly disqualified

5 - voting (members must have at least 20 posts to vote ... although contest entrants are exempt from this ruling) will run from the submission deadline until 6pm GMT on thursday 31st march - anyone voting for themselves will find ALL their votes disqualified - any entrants not voting will also be disqualified

6 - prizes this month so far ...

So here's my entry.
I can't seem to shake that "unheard" theme completely - this is a new agey meditation thing (a first) featuring my 3 1/2 month old boy Oskar (another first). The title reflects the irony in a meditative new age song that lasts 1:45.

It's an uplifting Trancy 80's synth tune, not cheesy. Think I'll carry on with this tune. I used Reason for the lead line, Reaktor for the other bits and my Moog samples for bass.

It's a very busy mix so was hard to get any real volume out of the track without killing it with compression, will probably strip it down later.

Was done at 96khz he he .. 128kps mp3 messes that up

It's a Free For All, right? Well, I composed this piece of whatever using all free stuff. Free synths, free effects, free sequencer (Tracktion NFR download).

So, my track is called:

RGC Triangle II for leads
SuperwaveP8 for the synth stringy things
Plugsound Free for the bass
Drumatic for the drums

Plugins used:

Luxonix on the drums
Tracktions Final Mix as a one-swipe master on the output bus
Frohmage on the lead at the end of the song

Hope you like it. Normally I play guitar and I thought about adding some chunky chords in here, but my guitar wasn't free and it would have ruined my whole theme idea.
