Loads
After ONE and KAB, we're going to revamp ONE/solo, and offer at least two more versions of ONE with som really cool bundled libraries.
We're also working in collaboration with another big client to launch a really interesting BIG plugin. NDA's mean I can say little except if people have been wondering what we've been up to all this time they'll soon see!

Mainly to bring it up to date with the latest Tachyon code and to add patch library browsing etc. Most likely it'll end up being bundled with some nice low cost libraries and sold in various versions by AMG.

I'll look forward to seeing this. As I was one of the beta testers in the past, I'm game to do it again.Muon Software Ltd wrote:Mainly to bring it up to date with the latest Tachyon code and to add patch library browsing etc. Most likely it'll end up being bundled with some nice low cost libraries and sold in various versions by AMG.

in bringing ONE/Solo upto date latest Tachyon code and to add patch library browsing etc, will that also including some of the effects that would be available in ONE ? What main differences will there be between ONE and ONE/SOLO by that stage?Muon Software Ltd wrote:Mainly to bring it up to date with the latest Tachyon code and to add patch library browsing etc. Most likely it'll end up being bundled with some nice low cost libraries and sold in various versions by AMG.

ONE/solo will not be getting a full browser, just a branching menu of available patches in the library it is locked to. It'll remain mono-timbral and won't get the FX units either. I can't say for certain, at this stage, if ONE/solo will get the slice editor or the step sequencer either, it hasn't been decided yet.
So ONE has a full browser, is multi-timbral, has 4 FX units, and each of its 8 racks have a step sequencer and slice editing capabilities. You will also be able to expand one with extra library packs, and import your own REX/ACID/AIFF/WAV files into the browser. ONE/solo will be mono-timbral, no FX and will be tied to the specific library it was sold with. I'm pretty sure ONE/solo will lose its REX/ACID import capabilities, but again, I'm not sure as it hasn't been decided yet.

I've seen that one solo has DS404 support as an easter egg - will get SR202 support as well ? what will happen to the SR202 format ? I have quite a few SR202 drum kits and since (I heard) you're dropping support of the SR202, it would be nice to know that I could use them in a plugin that (I hope) you will continue such as ONE / One/Solo. As a side issue, I take it that ONE is effectively what Neutron (the enhanced version of the Sr202) was going to be, will the same thing be happening for the DS404 ?

Problem with SR202 support (and DS404 bank support) is that they are multitimbral formats. ONE only has 8 multimbral channels compared to SR202 and DS404's 16. Although the Tachyon engine has these import formats as standard, we tend to disable them in cases where they don't fit well or the client doesn't want them. In the case of ONE, DS404 bank and SR202 import are disabled.

Not in ONE - as I say, it only has 8 channels but it would need 16 to handle a DS404 bank or an SR202 kit properly.

No I didn't try that one. Doesn't it need a virtual MIDI cable program in addition to the KeySwitch thingy? I.e. two additional programs to run, and no total recall.
Maybe Cubase's MIDI effects could do this as well. I think there was a scripting plugin, but I don't remember what its name was. Edit: it was MFXScript!

Yes, I've been using Midi Yoke for this. When you've installed it the virtual Midi I/O ports will always be available so the only extra app you need to fire up is KeySwitch.Kitchen Sink wrote:No I didn't try that one.
