Tweakbench has released Dropout, a freeware sample player that utilizes granular pitch shifting and sample slicing to play back a sample in new and unusual ways.
- The first row of sliders controls the actual playhead position in the sample at that step.
- The second row controls the coarse pitch, which is multiplied by the pitch variance setting at the top.
- The bottom row of toggles allows each individual slice to be reversed.
All the other settings should be familiar to users of other Tweakbench plugins like Breakdown, Mashup, and Sideslip.
Dropout is freeware and is available as a VSTi for Windows.
