SKnote has released v0.4.0 of Grainz, a fairly major update to the granular and physical modeling synth. The first sound bank showing the synths sound possibilities will be released next week.
Changes:
- Physical modeled oscillator now has three modes:
- Plucked.
- Bowed by oscillator2.
- Manually bowed.
- Oscillator2 now has two modes:
- Normal.
- Bow (amplitude envelope is bow velocity for oscillator1).
- Granular synthesis now works in two modes:
- Waveform (the grains span and stretch the waveform).
- Granular (the grains set the frequency, the waveform gives harmonic content). This new mode makes waveform use a lot more versatile (ever in-tune).
- The synth can load up to 100 waveforms.
- Grain width has been set to a better range.
- Physical modeled oscillator has been optimized.
- Bugfixes.
