SKnote has released v0.4.0 of Grainz, a fairly major update to the granular and physical modeling synth. The first sound bank showing the synths sound possibilities will be released next week.

Changes:

  • Physical modeled oscillator now has three modes:
    1. Plucked.
    2. Bowed by oscillator2.
    3. Manually bowed.
  • Oscillator2 now has two modes:
    1. Normal.
    2. Bow (amplitude envelope is bow velocity for oscillator1).
  • Granular synthesis now works in two modes:
    1. Waveform (the grains span and stretch the waveform).
    2. Granular (the grains set the frequency, the waveform gives harmonic content). This new mode makes waveform use a lot more versatile (ever in-tune).
  • The synth can load up to 100 waveforms.
  • Grain width has been set to a better range.
  • Physical modeled oscillator has been optimized.
  • Bugfixes.
