NAMM 2008: IK Multimedia announces AmpliTube X-Gear now shipping with StompIO

IK Multimedia has announced that AmpliTube X-Gear is now shipping with StompIO, IK's advanced USB foot controller and audio interface for guitarists and bassists.

AmpliTube X-GearAmpliTube X-Gear is a software shell-host that lets you mix and match models from all "Powered by AmpliTube" products in a single interface, and provides seamless control over every parameter directly from StompIO, with no need for your computer's mouse, keyboard or screen. X-Gear is a completely expandable and customizable guitar amp and stompbox modeling software system and is available as RTAS/AU/VST plug-ins and standalone for Mac OS X and Windows.

When loaded with the complete range of "Powered by AmpliTube" products, X-Gear gives you instant access to over 150 modeled stomps, amps, cabinets, microphones and racks FX, for the ultimate in guitar and bass tone creation.

StompIOX-Gear seamlessly integrates with the StompIO foot controller/audio interface for complete control of your entire rig.  Operate every element of X-Gear with no need to connect your screen, keyboard or mouse, so you can switch patches, work your pedals, and tweak parameters just like you are using real gear. Every parameter of every model in X-Gear is immediately available for control, through the 10 on board switches, 6 rotary encoders and 6 external expression pedals/switches, with preset numbers, values and labels immediately displayed on the StompIO's 2 large displays and no need for tedious configurations.

Use authentic-sounding models of classic, collectible guitar and bass gear, along with StompIO's high-end design and professional feature set, whether you are on rocking out on stage or recording in the studio.

AmpliTube X-Gear features:

  • Provides a single host interface for all "powered by AmpliTube" products (AmpliTube 2, Ampeg SVX, AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix, AmpliTube Metal, and all future products) with full mix and match among all the included stomps, amps, cabinets, and microphones.
  • Allows complete integration with StompIO audio interface/floor controller.
  • Opens and reads all "Powered by AmpliTube" presets.
  • Works as both a RTAS/AU/VST plug-in and standalone version with SpeedTrainer.
