Welcome to the KVRwiki, an editable information store on all things audio technology / music production related. If people get involved, the shared knowledge of KVR members will, over time, become available here.
Please note that although Wikis are usually editable by all-comers we require you to be not only a KVR member but also a member of the KVRwiki Editors Group. Sadly, this is due to the number of people that join KVR seemingly with the intention of causing trouble - we do not intend to let them have edit access to the KVRwiki and cause unnecessary disruption.
The KVRwiki Editors Group is free to join; click the Join Group button on this page and the group moderator will allow or deny your membership as soon as possible. Please be aware that this may be very quick, or it could take a few hours. Please be patient.
Learn how to Create a new page, Edit an existing page, and style your text using WikiMarkup.
There are a few rules to adhere to when editing the KVRwiki:
- All text must be in English (British or American spelling).
- All text must be spell-checked (There are various browser plug-ins to achieve this - the Google Toolbar has an excellent built in spell-checker for example).
- All text must adhere to the basic rules of grammar, where appropriate (i.e. Sentences should begin with a CAPITAL letter and end with a full stop / period).
- All entries should follow these formatting guidelines.
- Please do not make entries for actual Plug-ins or Hosts (such as Reaktor, Cubase, etc.) as these already exist in the KVR Database. Plug-ins and Hosts should simply be referenced on other pages, and linked as required either to their KVR Database entry, or their home page. For example, a page about Modular Synthesizer may mention Reaktor, VOID, etc. (and link to their relevant entry in the KVR database).
- All text must be on topic for KVR Audio, which means it should be related to music production, engineering, composition, plug-ins, sequencers, fish, etc.
- Posting of copyrighted material is forbidden. Please do not re-post articles, tutorials, reviews, etc. from other resources.
- Any links to other websites must be directly related to the subject matter of the relevant KVRwiki page.
- Advertising of any kind is not permitted.
- Posting links to websites containing illegal content is forbidden.
The KVRwiki is in beta. All rules are subject to change.
The heart of the KVRwiki is (will be) the AudioLexicon; it is like a dictionary, but dedicated to all things audio. Feel free to make any additions, corrections, enhancements or modifications under the relevant index letter.
