well in Unixy command-line use, you would expect to pipe the output to a new file, but the couple of windows graphical ones Ive come across do it 'in-place', which is obviously handy.

(this one is courtesy of the folk who do the Tortoise front-end for the SVN source code control system. One of their other tools, stexbar, is pretty handy too, adds a useful toolbar into explorer windows. kudos.)

Hi all, updated with how to change user patch images in a given folder. Very cool if you're looking to create an Omnisphere/Trilian soundbank and want your company logo on your patches.

Updated 4/22/2018 for clarity and to address changes in programs. Also to bring awareness of this editing ability due to increasing amounts of 3rd party banks which contain unhelpful tag names that clutter up the browser interface and complicate the browsing experience. I've been deleting so many useless tags lately... :?

Thanks GMusic, hadn't seen this thread before. I wish there was a proper tool for doing batch editing, but your method has to be a lot better than going through every patch one by one, much appreciated.

Great info, thanks GMusic. Works brilliantly. I had to dig a bit to find out how to target the weblinks/more info box. For anyone else looking, the attribute is URL

Would also like a full batch editor, but in the meantime this is pretty good.

I would cough up some coin for something GUI based to do this!
My main tools: Kontakt, Omnisphere, Samplemodeling + Audio Modeling. Akai VIP = godsend. Tari's libraries also rock.

Me too. Just throwing this crazy idea out there - would anyone be up for a crowd funded purpose built tool for this?

In the meantime, another thanks to GMusic for this method - it's far from a panacea, but it sure helps.

I probably would have a couple of months ago.

In the end I got tired of waiting for Spectrasonics and have gone through and already done all the tedious work for myself.

I don't blame you. I've done some, but it really its the tip of the iceberg... I have over 6,500 user and third party patches, I've done the barest minimum!

I've actually started to seriously look into this. I figure that it would be possible to build something that is really quite smart, stays up to date as Spectrasonics keep moving the goalposts with their own tags on each release, and can really guide the user through it by comparing with the tag usage in the factory library for every situation. This should mean the best chance of meaningful search results in All. I'm told (!) that the programming side of it shouldn't be too horrific.

I started a thread on it here - viewtopic.php?f=1&t=519979
