Pads is such a broad area... there are the usual super synths as all around great pad synths
but then there are various niche areas
Phonem for vocal type sounds - can do lots of stuff you could not do in something like Omnisphere or Zebra
Bazille with its unique modulation sources and flexible audio rate modulations and feedback loops can create particular sorts of noisy, natural, mechanical or ambient tones that also could not be done in the commonly listed super pad synths.

And if we're talking mechanical, you've gotta check out Aalto.

I love music, worked with a number of music/rhythm/dance games like Pump It Up, In The Groove, Cytus and Deemo, and teach music production.

For pad sounds, my first choice right now is probably Bazille. Next up would be A.c.e then Diva.
Reaktor has some great stuff as well which I like to use from time to time.

Sunrizer is amazing for pads, and because it's so CPU efficient you can afford to run it at 96khz which really improves the sound.

That's basically all i use Sunrizer for. It's perfect for huge pads that would otherwise annihilate CPU compared to most. An overlooked synth in my opinion.aMUSEd wrote:Sunrizer is amazing for pads, and because it's so CPU efficient you can afford to run it at 96khz which really improves the sound.

Yeah, I also love how each patch has 2 morphable poles within it. Makes for a very expressive synth. You should make a bank for it.

Yep. A very capable synth for sure. I will definitely be making a bank for it at some point.

I'm experimenting with Arcsyn.
But Imposcar is where I go first.

MuLab-Reaper of course

If you use an FM synth and convolute it with volume-shaped white noise, you'll get slightly uncontrollable, but absolutely stunning results.

Mostly Zebra and sometimes Diva.
I just love the complex layered pads Zebra can do:

I enjoy what you did and are doing for Dune 2 and look forward to what you will do with Sunrizer, another of my favorites. I hope this is still in your plans.

Very beautiful <3
I use Zebralette a lot for pads. Just one oscillator makes it easy to mix, the MSEGs are great and I love the wavetable scanning sound. Athmospheres and soundscapes I extract from my Reaktor (blocks) ensembles.
