Hi there and welcome to the OSC! Your track sounds pretty good :)

Quick note: Barricade CM is technically magware which currently is disallowed (not my choice; I vote for all kinds of effects including commercial!). You could replace it with Limiter No6, to be perfectly legit, which is very good: http://vladgsound.wordpress.com/plugins/limiter6/

Also, I was curious what it was... but can't seem to find bkClipper anywhere, does it have a different name?

Post

If you want just a transparent 'no frills' limiter you could try Terry West's "Safe Limit": http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=350282 ;)

For a complete 'one knob' mastering plugin (which is my absolute fav) try MHorse P3: http://www.terrywest.nl/equalizers.html ;)

And have a look of all his other plugins - IMO they're awesome ;)

It's part of the BlauKraut Suite:

Also, don't forget about George Yohng's W1. A very good free limiter!

Aha! I've used Charlatan, which sounds great. I didn't know the author made more plugs...

I switched out the limiter, and updated the original post to reflect that.

:hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: Really excited about this month. Also really surprised by all the interest, and positivity about Swierk. :phones: (Strange how Chrome doesn't know how to spell positivity.)

I used Wine on Linux for a long time. It worked pretty well. I can try it with OSX 10.9... Which OS version do you have?
Did you try the plugwire thing? http://diaphone.blogspot.de/2010/12/11.html
I'm on Mavericks. I played with the plugwire thing, and got one instance working, but it seemed like a big hassle. Maybe I'll throw something together on my office PC while at lunch. Thanks for the info.

I'm thinking the best long term strategy for mac users is to use bootcamp + Windows OS install?

A little more expensive, but once it's done, you have both systems it seems

I'm going to install OSX as a dual boot as soon as I have time.

I have upload my submission.
https://soundcloud.com/filterego/how-many-instances

I used 9 instances and slightly effects but not chorus and flanger.
I used only the freeware TAL - Reverb 2
Recorded in Cubase 7.5
I used just my own presets, no factory presets.
Hope you like it.
Thanks for your time, for the opportunity and lot of fun time ;)

Cheers

Ps: I have use eq, compression and limiter in the final mix. Is it ok or should I remove it?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but its my first attempt at OSC, i have read the rules but im unsure if free arps or sequences are allowed to be used to sequence the synth?

Yes, they are allowed. You can use Kirnu Arp, which is free.

Specifically, free arpeggiators are allowed, as satya mentioned. However, free sequences are not... the "Your entry must be composed specifically for this contest" rule.
