Edit Clips are Empty

Just getting back into Tracktion, I used it in the very beginning. Man how time flies.
I can't get the Edit clip feature to work. When I drag the main clip into a new tab, it drops Ok, and appears to render, but the new clip is empty. Well, there is a thin line. I figure I must be doing something wrong
Any ideas on how to get it working?

If there is a thin line it probably means only silence has been rendered. This could be because you haven't saved the source Edit or possibly because you haven't selected any tracks from the "Edit Properties" tab that appears when you select the Edit Clip.

I've been trying these too and I am getting sounds after getting all the error messages telling me what I can't do! What system are you using and what was in your inserted clip?
[W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.

I tried with another project and it worked fine. Not sure what I did differently.
