Loss of one channel within an edit clip?

I recently recorded my band using 14 inputs in a live situation. Upon post editing the clips, on my kick drum track and overhead drum mic track, I seem to have lost one side of the channel...only one lighted bar shows on the level meter and I cannot pan the signal left or right, and it and I hear it only on one side. Yet if I double click on the clip itself and just that clip plays, both sides come back and I can hear both...?? Anyone have any ideas what's going on? PS...I'm using Tracktion 3 on a PC

select clip and look at PAN in the Properties Panel.
I bet it say 1 or -1, should be 0 for a equally panend stereo clip.
