Two Problems, maybe related, T5 Constant Crash on entering EMPTY EDIT , and won't stay authorized

Seems to be related to an applied update, but I'm now dead in water.

Even opening a new empty edit T5 crashes immediately

was having issue where almost every other time i started tracktion5, was prompted to re-authorize, it authorizes fine for that session, but re-prompts for authorization half the time.

so i uninstalled, and re-installed

now, whenever i open even an empty new project, crashes, see log encl.

I don't believe Tracktion uses the registry.
Maybe the settings file appdata/roaming/T4/tracktion.settings file might be corrupt. You could temporarily rename it. I think you will get a fresh one created.

Do you have the open last edit options set, as this can make it hard to recover if you have a dodgy edit,

I tried renaming both Tracktion.settings (first), and CurrentUserSettings.trksettings files before initial posting here.
(Seemed strange that T5 settings files were in T4 AppData folder...?)

Neither helped situation, nor did unchecking Load Last Edit Option.

Uninstall/Reinstalling didn't help either.

Tracktion 5 uses the Tracktion 4 directory for settings, for backwards compatibility. It's nothing to worry about.

I too had the issue with it constantly asking for Authorization and using your suggestion of Uninstall/Delete./ and Reinstall worked fine.
