I visited a friend in the UK a couple of weeks ago. He had AGG2 and uses it with Mixcraft.

He let me play around with it on his computer and I was very impressed with its capability of composing chord sequences. What I couldn't find out was how to route the output from a chord sequence to a MIDI track. My friend has a keyboard and he had no idea of how to do what I wanted.

I find it hard to believe that anyone would write software with the capability of producing a chord sequence when all you can do is hear it, but can't record it to a MIDI track.

If it can be done, I may well consider a purchase. If it CAN be done, how? I'm no computer expert so words of one syllable please! I'm going over soon after New Year and I hope I have an answer by then so I can test it.

Hi thanks for asking, you can simply drag a strum pattern to MIDI track.
You also can output MIDI with MIDI out feature on settings panel.

Yes, but how do I get it to record onto a track. No matter what I tried, It wouldn't record onto a track.

Pleaes read manual here

Toggle on MIDI Out, add a MIDI track in project and set the input to MIDI Out of Ample Guitar. Then any note being played will be converted to MIDI, including those by strum and tab.
* Logic is the only one DAW which doesn't support MIDI out feature.

1. I downloaded the trial version and installed it
2. Mixcraft 8 sees it - no problem
3. I delete the Audio tracks and create a second VI track now I have 2 Virtual Instrument tracks
4. In the first VI track, I load AGG251
5. Settings --> MIDI Out = ON

Now, I don't really have a clue what to do with the second VI track

Right click on the track tells me nothing to do with MIDI input

Clicking the Keyboard icon doesn't give me any clues either.

Mixcraft 8 manual also tells me zilch about setting a track to receive MIDI from another track. Looking on the web seems to indicate that it can't be done without a Third Party bit of software called LoopBe. I downloaded the free version but I can't get this to work either.

I've fiddled around with every setting I can think of but if I arm and hit record and play riffer, I get a red bar going across VI2 track, but it records nothing.

Does this actually work in the demo version? Does it work with Mixcraft 8? Should I give up now?

If it does, I seem to be missing something somewhere. Maybe I'm just stupid, but I seem to be getting nowhere.

William,

When you have created a melody within riffer and you want it to appear on your DAW Mixcraft Midi Grid , you will need to extract the melody from riffer to your midi grid just watch this quick video. You'll see the user clicking and holding the (drag to midi host button) This is how you can transpose (slide) what you have created within riffer to your midi track. You'll then be able to see what you have created in your midi track :

The same thing can be done with strummer when you want to export a pattern to your DAW Mixcraft midi grid (track):

Hi, in AGT 2.5, I have MIDI out turned on but I see no option on my MIDI track to receive input from AGT-MIDI OUT. Is this supported in Ableton Live Lite 9?

Thanks

Paul
