Consolidate multiple audio events

For some reason I'm not able to truely consolidate audio events the way I want to. If I consolidate multiple audio events, they are grouped, but if I want to change the gain for the group- I still have to do that for each individual event. See below for example.
Any thoughts? I was thinking about bounce in place, but that doesn't feel like the right way.

Yeah bounce in place...
Personal i like it how it behaves...
Because in my situation for example i cut beats and give some sounds lower volumes and gain enveloppes , but at a certain point it getting a mess in my arranger, so i consolidate the whole thing.
And the nice thing is that you can edit it afterwards.
(I think thats the purpose of how it behaves like this.. sounds really stubborn of me sorry )

Now it's 2.3.1 of version, but still same way.
I don't like bounce in place for this.
Because bounce in place occupies more drive space and restricts flexibility of modification.
Is there still no plan to improve consolidation of audio events ?
