Hi there;
Just a quick note to ask for this as I will setting up a Linux machine by January and was wondering if this ever took off.
For those wondering about Me. I am still looking for an apartment here in Madrid and have no internet connection in my rented apartment so It will be a while before I can work on any new translations of the manuals, but I will get to it as soon as my family and I are settled.

I cannot wait. The lack of such a great audio app is the sole reason I haven't moved completely to Linux.

Hopefully there will be some scripting in XT2 that will let us PC users captialize on all those Linux nerds' super powers.

Now that Xara is being ported it is actually feasible for me to consider Linux as a main OS for work so it would be great to also be able to do some audio work there.

Having something like EXT on linux would make me a very happy camper, especially considering how optimizable linux is.

However, I think Jorgen has said that it will only support VST with Linux headers? (I think that's what he said anyway). I have no idea how many VSTs are linux compatible, but I'm guessing it's not a big market right now. Of course, having a host that supports them could be the start of something big...

I hope he ends up supporting any outputs/inputs via jack so I can use xfst. I've been having good results with it. Bringing native VSTs in any form to Linux is good to so bravo to Jorgen. The xfst thing is hopefully just temporary 'till everyone sees how great Linux is.

xt2 is win/linux and will be out early next year. Impossible to set a date at the moment. Its a complete redesign of v1.x

it will only support native linux vsts, but its possible to write a native vst that loads win vsts via wine I guess. xt2 comes with a synth/sampler so you can make music "out of the box". Ill make some example vsts with source code on linux when xt2 is public.

the midi/audio driver part of xt2 is open source, so anyone can add jack support for it (knowing c/c++ and jack that is). xt currently works with OSS only. Works great on kernel 2.6. I get very low latencies with it over here.

Ill post some screenshots soon.
