I think it's possible that Pro53, FM7, Battery and even Kontakt were developed on Reaktor's environment. However I don't think Absynth was. It's a whole new thing.

For some reason this wont work if you buy the Upgrade to Komplete 2, or if you pull it from a napster wazres app or something. NI somehow coded a disable VST export when Reaktor is cracked.

But if you buy the full NI Komplete 2, the button is there. There's also a button to import VST or VSTi (i.e. import FL Studio) and then you can make some changes, and export. You can export your own VST's, but please remember to change a few things, maybe rename "FL Studio" to "Energy Studio" or something.

Then there's some marketing tools & buttons. The menu is hidden, so you'll have to right click & show the "Marketing Tools" menu. I love the web site button which creates a web site to market your new VST, it extracts the name i.e. "Energy Studio" and makes the web site for you, with screen shots, tutorials, even demo MP3 songs. Pretty neat stuff.

I prefer a more hands on approach when I export my Reaktor VST hosts:



I find the auto-export to still have a few bugs in it. There's no replacement for good old fashioned hard work.

it has a little automatic 'spider' type device that runs thru each connection and determines the operation of the plugin from the GUI controls. it also contains a large database of output sounds and compares the results of the tutorial engine to them, so it can best demonstrate how to get "that" sound. it can also determine the best possible sounds automatically, and create an 'advanced tutorial' page showing step-by-step instructions.

it's particularly cool because you can customise the wizard so that it only makes tutorials for making patches/sounds that are, for example, 80% good. the absolute top quality presets it works out can be saved to a special 'developer' page so that you can keep the best ones to yourself. some people choose to put it up to as much as 98% quality when making their tutorials/patches as they feel that they may generate a better impulse-buy user base. others choose a lower amount so that they can show off the potential in audio demos and let the potential buyers feel that the synth is a lot deeper than it would seem, and so it's a good investment and a slow-burner. different marketing approaches, basically.

To make this thread serious for a short while: NI do use Reaktor for prototyping some of their products, for instance i'm pretty sure i've read an interview with the lead developer for Guitar Rig, who stated that they had partly used Reaktor for developing the software. Of course they'll re-code it later, but for developing the concepts i can see how it's useful. And they could, of course, lift some code from Reaktor into other projects. It's their code, after all.

My FAVORITE feature, though, is the module that you can set to auto-create ensembles for you. No learning curve at all! It's very cool. This is all covered in the Auxiliary section of the Modules Reference... but you have to use the hidden ink viewer glasses and the master decoder ring (both of which come with NI Komplete) in order to locate and interpret the parameters.

Well I'm impressed. I have Komplete2 and I hadn't noticed the Marketing Tools button, I must give it a try.

I've heard a rumour that Reaktor 5 is so good if you put the disk into a normal CD player it will create an award winning album for you. Someone I know, I can't mention their name, is doing beta testing and he tells me this is really true, even though the only evidence he had for me was to play what I thought was a best of John Denver CD. But he said, no, this was generated from Reaktor.
