I have another thread going for my first synths and thought I would make a seperate one for the drums.
Basically I am getting back in to electronic music and am looking at purchasing a vst drum machine for trance/goa/beat beat/dnb and breaks, thus those real acoustic sets aren't as important to me.
I have had a brief play with the RM IV and battery however since I have not purchased a sequencer yet it's a little hard to get a good feel for it.
My question is two fold, firstly will a professional sequencer and one of the aforementioned synths be a good way to go? If so which?
or alternatively will something like the upcoming GURU be better for the styles of music I like and be easier to program than the drum editors in the seq's?
I liked the fact that RM IV comes with built in grooves which battery seemed to totally lack (unless I missed something). Speaking of which do you also have suggestions for sites that offer midi grooves for drums? so I can get some good ideas for some complex breaks? or should I just experiment.
Thanks heaps
