Hello
I have a basic home recording studio setup up in my room...which i am quite happy with. The only thing that is missing is speakers....i have looked at a few models but i am not sure what type of moniters or speakers will connect to the back of my Edirol UA25.If anyone is familar with the interface would they be kind enough to post 1 or 2 examples of speakers or moniters that will connect to the audio device.I have speakers which are connected to my computer but there are useless when i use my Edirol audio interface to record on cubase(as obviously this is the device enababled in the sequencer)
Please help. :D  :) :( :o :-o

I had a look at your Edirol UA25. It has 1/4" TRS and RCA (white/red) outputs at the back.

Whatever monitoring speakers you choose (active ones (with integrated amp) I presume) it's not likely that you can't connect them. Maybe you need some simple adapters or a special cable, but there are no problems to be expected. Professional audio connectors are quite standardised...

Hi Ersin,

I have the same audio interface as you (though I'm hoping to be able to upgrade soon :)) and I recently purchased a pair of KRK RP-5 monitors after much deliberation. You can get a range of monitors which will usually have enough inputs to cater for whatever soundcard you have, in your case you should easily be able to find a pair that have 1/4 inch jack sockets and/or RCA jack sockets.

The UA-25's outputs are both unbalanced, and while you shouldn't have any trouble finding monitors with an unbalanced 1/4" input, I've not seen any myself that have an unbalanced RCA input.

The actual monitors you choose are solely down to your preference. When I bought my KRKs I narrowed it down first by price range, then narrowed that group down to user reviews to two pairs. The only thing that can really help you decide is just to listen to them and compare them yourself and choose which ones you like since you'll probably see them as quite an investment.

I also reccomend that you use your UA25 and your monitors for day to day use so that you get used to how you sound. I don't use windows but I imagine you can use your UA25 as the system audio output easily enough...

There's also a sticky which has details of many monitors which you should definitely look at here...
