Having trouble getting reason to make these kinda growly bass sounds, anyone have any advice (or patches) to share?

Use an oscillator or two in dual or quad mode to taste, setup some hefty detuning, and run them through an XFM filter with a bit of overdload. You can also get some PWM going as well.

Use the shapers for some bite and an EQ module to shaping the tone, and you should be able to get something you like...

not to be pedantic, but that's not a saw - that's pwm. So you'll need a rectangle wave, not a saw. Alternatively, you can use two out of phase saw tooth oscs (it sounds much the same)

Try that. Mess w/ filter cutoff to get the other timbres. The phatness comes from the detuning AND the fact that it's octaved with a sub-osc. The high end doesn't *quite* match the audio example you posted, but Zebra 2 has weird high end behavior sometimes. I feel like it adds some extra harmonics in the upper mids...

I could probably nail that sound using a Plan B Model 15 with a Doepfer A-105 filter. That's what it sounds like to me. :D
