hi, if I have a piano on channel 1, and put the reversinator as in insert effect in FXA. all I want to be able to do is to know the midi control Number so that I can switch the reversinator on and off. I only use the reversinator as an example, I am basically struggling with any midi control over any FX plug in parameters. I have ticked the box in the setup tab (route midi CC's to source plug in) is that right?
apologies for being a halfwit ben |

At this moment, you can't do thiat. Put the reversinator in a different channel and pipe the audio out of the piano to the second slot. use a different midi channel to control it. (I may be mistaken on exactly how you do this, but it is the way it is done for now. |

If you are exclusively looking to turn the effect on/off, I'd say using CC's to control the Receptors mixer is the easiest way to go, and assign a midi button on your controller to simply mute the effect in fxA, which is explained in the 1.5 addendum I believe. Not sure that suits your needs, but it's how I have some multis set up. |

Yes, just to re-phrase Dasher's point: the current version of the Receptor OS (1.5) only routes MIDI to the FIRST plugin in a Receptor mixer channel. So, if you have a piano VSTi loaded, then subsequent FX plugins in the same Receptor channel will not see the MIDI data.
When you put the FX VST in a second Receptor mixer channel (with the channel source set to the output of the piano VSTi), the FX becomes the first plugin in it's mixer channel - thus it gets the MIDI data. You may not have to use a different MIDI channel, if your piano VSTi ignores the CC that your FX plugin wants. I think we can expect to see the MIDI routing situation improve in a future OS version, since there are many high-profile Receptor users who play live, and who are surely giving Muse plenty of feedback. ---- Greg Holmes Retailer: Acoustic Image, BassLab, Muse Receptor, MIDIjet, Rayzoon Jamstix, and more... http://www.ghservices.com/ http://www.gregholmes.com/ |
