How strange : A whole recent topic has vanished...

I'm a bit surprised to see that a topic that I initiated -and to which many others contributed- has simply vanished, since yesterday.
If I was the suspicious, paranoïd kind of guy, I would think that it's because it stated many problems encountered by early purchasers of ET.
But, since I cannot believe that Bitr would apply so brutal censorship to a thread just to cover up issues with one of their products, I prefer to suppose that it must have been a server failure....
Could you please check the database, and try to retrieve it ? Many thanks in advance.

Dear Gilles,
the posting was indeedly removed. There were several customers who were confused by the mix of wusik.com and bitr product issues and just want our WS1/2 ws-engine ET product and were a bit misleaded by all the off-topics and WS3/4 discussions. The product support for you can be processed very effectively by mail.
Sincerely
Julia

Well,
it's just my opinion of course,
but this posting had at least the merit of informing potential customers who are current W3-WS4 users that they may run into trouble with ET... to the point that they may have to give up the hope of using the lib for a(n undefinite) period of time.
It was also a way for them to know that ET for now comes only with a handful of presets (even for those who will run the intended player), the rest being left entirely to the user with the "help" of the TSL templates.
I think those are 2 things worth of knowing and not confusing for anybody, and with this "removal" they are no longer mentioned anywhere else.
Hence, I hope that this new topic will be entitled to some existence.
And yes, to speak freely, I usually think that a pure and simple one-way removal on a forum, unless disrespect or insultive talks are made, is not a good thing. An official update, at the beginning or in the end of the topic, might have helped kill any confusiion.
But maybe the built-in confusion in the way this lib has been released is hard to remedy...?

Don't worry, it's only the WS3 version Presets issue what you mean, not the WS1/2 version, and currently we're working on that in cooperation with William. If someone is WS3/4 customer we always tell them what's the problem with this version. Darkstar was one of them and he's informed. We have no problem at all to post it in the wusik forum too, just as general information. Now it's all said in this issue. Next message is "WS3 version Presets available". OK?
Cheers

you can easily split posts from a thread into a new one and then move it to another forum (i.e. the Wusik-forum in this case).

I'll be happy to see the issue resolved. I've got TSW Pro to 4.9G upgrade and an ET 4.9 purchase on my to-do list once all is hunky-dory.
I agree that the removal of the message was probably worse for customer relations than leaving it and editing the top post to show progress. Honesty is the best policy, not that I think the removal was dishonest or anything - just not the best decision.

Well,
based on several mails I received, I'm now pretty sure that I'm not the only one to think that this removal was not the best possible -and even strategic- move. So thanks to all who expressed their feeling about this, either privately or here.
Now, Julia, to give a fast comment on your post to this very topic, believe me, I'd be the first one really happy to realize, based on fact, that the "product support for (me) can be processed very effectively by mail".
Unfortunately, I can only see now that I adressed a very simple request to you by mail yesterday evening, which needed a very short but definitive answer, and that now (24 hours later), I have yet to get this answer.

The issue is resolved, the WS3/4 version ET Presets are available and already submitted to the customers. Although this isn't part of our product we're always supportive and organized the WS3/4 Presets version availability as additional nice to have.ZombyWoof wrote:I'll be happy to see the issue resolved. Removing a thread is correct according to the forum rules, opening a new one demanding to know why the first thread was deleted is a violation and in our company forum we're tolerating even that, we're fans of free speech.
Forum rules:
Now I'll close this thread. There's nothing to see here, lunch is over, everybody goes back to music work nowIf a thread is locked or deleted this happened for good reason so don't start another thread demanding to know why the first thread was locked/deleted as that too will also be locked/deleted - if you wish to complain about such an incident please contact us privately.
Cheers
