That's not a description you hear everyday. Sounds like fun.
Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.

Generative Harp Player: great idea. Programming believable harp runs can be difficult.

ToTc Votes for: :drumroll: daHornet Pro!!! :D :D :D :D

Post

Hard to choose. I like ToTc's vote, too!
I voted for Beams & Vibes mostly because I have some things I could use it on right away. They all sound interesting, though.

Post

I went with the Generative Harp - I think that could be fun

but, I also want a UB version of daHornet for my intel mac

Kind of a hard choice but I went for the Physical Modelling Percussions Builder as I think PM is your real strength although I would also be interested in most of the others especially the grungy filters VA synth.

You're the only independent commercial developer I can think of actually developing PM stuff, so perhaps if they are your best selling products in what is becoming an overcrowded market you should specialize in them?

As an aside being, as we're talking about the future, one thing I do find a bit confusing is all the company names - nusofting, liqihsynth & dashsignature - perhaps everything should now amalgamated be under 1 name?

For some reason I really like the hi hat demo :). I hear a ton of potential in it. If for this synth you can eliminate much of the usual graininess/choppiness/harshness that such synths usually exhibit with methods other than simple smearing, I'd be very interested in it.

My second choice is the virtual analog synth with good filters (but the oscillators need just as much work :)). But a big warning: don't bother to release an analog style synth unless you can really deliver authenticity. There are way, way too many not good enough offerings from many others and you have to seriously have something different to succeed with such a synth, and that something is authenticity.
There are some nice synths with a nice character of their own, but not ones that sound or attempt at all to sound like analog synths. I'm almost 100% uninterested by "virtual analog" software synths because I'm very unsatisfied by almost all of those that attempt to sound like analog (or more often, just claimed to). The implementations are boring and the filters especially are almost always bah. There are some that are kind of decent, but I say Korg's analog modelled VSTi's are the only truly good ones when it comes to actual, real high quality analog synth circuit modelling. So if you can really make something with at least as good as Korg's MS-20 and Mono/Poly VSTi's oscillators and filters but with a different character, I'd love that. Otherwise, wait until you can.

I'd be very interested in a drum machine of the Physical Modelling Percussions Builder. I have suggested something like this to AAS ie:
a GUI optimised PM drum machine with selectable modules. So each row would allow to select either a PM, VA or FM drum source.
Having built-in basic starter rhythymns from all around the world would be great. We could select a samba rhythm, for example, and modify it further to suit the track.

I don't know if a product like this exists, and I think it would be a great seller if it came with a good library of pre-programmed ethnic rhythms. This would be just a great VST to use in any production.

my nº1 is the 'percussion builder' and i like the other ideas too, especially the multieffect and the 'beams and vibes'.

Failing the drum machine idea, having a very accurate recreation of a strumming harp would also be great. This is after all what the Karma engine tried to do ( amongst other things). I'd also love the kaotica FX unit. Add a pitch shifter to the FX list and allow for easy effects order swap. :)
