Yellow Tools authorization key

I ordered and received Independence Basic, but haven't been able to run it because my dealer has no USB authorization keys and says there's a global back order. My e-mails to Yellow Tools about this have gone unanswered. Nice. How is it Steinberg not only manages to have their USB keys available, but at $30 instead of $50. Any sources for a Yellow Tools key?

Have you tried emailing WIBU?
Since they are the ones that manufacture the keys, then maybe they know of any distributors that might have them in stock.
Also, try giving Yellow Tools a call, because I know that sometimes emails can get filtered as SPAM.
That said, when you do manage to get hold of them they are always a very helpful bunch of folks.

You have more info than I. Don't know WIBU from WAMU, and isn't YT in Germany? Not a toll free call from North America. My e-mails are going to their sales address and have gone through previously.ben_horwood wrote:Have you tried emailing WIBU?

Except they don't deal directly with customers of their customers do they? I know Syncrosoft doesn't.

I'm not really sure. I did find it at Audiomidi.com, but I don't know if they have it in stock. The page claims it "usually" ships in 2-4 business days:

I just found a distributor page:
http://wibu.com/distributoren.php
(I'm getting an error message at the moment, however.)

Yes that is who I meant.eduardo_b wrote:Except they don't deal directly with customers of their customers do they? I know Syncrosoft doesn't.
They may not deal directly with their customers but you may be able to get some help from them finding a distributor that has one in stock.
Especially if there is a "shortage" of them.
If your emails have gone through previously, then they should do now.
I was just thinking if you had never managed to get in contact with them, then that might have been a possibility.

Hear anything back? I did finally get an e-mail, after this thread, saying the keys were in stock and ready for shipment. So I guess I could order from Germany. They said I'd have it in two days, but four seems more likely. No explanation though, of what the problem is here on the other side of the pond.jens wrote:eduardo_b wrote:isn't YT in Germany? four days still seems to be more than optimistic to me if they need to send it from here*...
...I think the problem could be that Wibu appears to have only one single distributor in the whole of America ( http://www.wibu.us/ ).
(*at least if they don't use their own private jet or helicopter)

a little off topic, but when I ordered pure basses from audiomidi (pure basses is yellow tools) they sent me volume two instead of one. I called them and they had yellow tools drop ship it as they called it from germany, it took about two days to get it. Pure basses do not need a dongle naturally, but it did come quick and fwiw Audiomidi picked up the bill and let me keep pure basses 2 as welleduardo_b wrote:Hear anything back? Oh, your days are like mine.jens wrote:oh, I'm sorry - I totally forgot to call them...
Actually, the software did make it here in four days. I have no idea how given how modest the shipping was.four days still seems to be more than optimistic to me if they need to send it from here*...
I'd have thought it would be simple enough to send a few cases over here. Unless they're not selling that many and aren't as motivated....I think the problem could be that Wibu appears to have only one single distributor in the whole of America ( http://www.wibu.us/ ).
