There is a beta of the latest update to Compressive Lite and Pro available here if anybody wants to give it a test :)

I have made some pretty big changes to the code to reduce CPU usage (especially with the sidechain), which has reduced it by about a third on my system 8) However, this has obfuscated my code somewhat so I am releasing it as a beta to start with to check it still works okay. Please note that the optimisations introduce a 16 sample delay, which is equal to ~0.3 milliseconds at a samplerate of 44.1 so it shouldn't affect its use in realtime. Plus, the delay is reported to the host.

I have also fixed a potential denormal in the EQ and finally fixed the ratio knob display.

Doesn't work in WL6.1 anymore
It used to work with the 01-2008 update.

In N4 it works , kind of, -> Stereo is broken.
That is, as soon as you dail in the trheshold -> signal is mono

could be human error on my side....but i think there is something funky bout
this 'update'

Hi ST54 - yep there was a bug with stereo/mono. I have just fixed it and updated the link above :)

What is WL6.1?

Thanks ST54, I bet there is no Wavelab demo available. Let me know if the latest version sorts any of the bugs out.

I tricked myself ;-)
The 'lite' version is/was OK with WL5/6.Same behaviour as the previous version.(was a long time I tried that)
Only the pro version doesn't do it in the mastersection of WL.
Possibly something to do with the 'external input/aux' capabilities.
Some error about "not supporting the number of channels".
You can use them both in the WL montage.
Anyway thx for the update ....esp. the ratio knob ;-)

Ah it sounds like wavelab can't deal with plugins that have more than one stereo input then. Good to see Steinberg fully supporting the VST spec :hihi:

@S-N-S - glad to hear it's working :)

@bduffy - let me know what you think, I'd be interested to hear any feedback you have 8)

Freakin' excellent so far. I don't recall a lot of CPU-use in the previous version, but seems quite low now. The only comment I can think of right now is that the sidechain monitor is loud as hell; when I have a significant boost it nearly blows my head off! :-o

Sounds great, though: I'm getting a really slamming drum bus right now, using the sidechain to compress the kick and snare and leave let the lows and highs through; very nice. Hard to think of any compressor sounding better; this is top-notch stuff, my friend.
