child easy listening, I like it I love it, but I'm no Hip-Hop producer, how's the mix sounding in this mp3? Thanks to Max el Belga and friends for the rap! |

Sounds great! The levels are just choice despite me not knowing what they are saying. Very smooth recording.
Sorta catchy and summery. nice. |

So it's not windows shutting down finally. The mix is good... Easy to listen, but hard to understand. Well... I suppose that if I spoke brasilian, that would help. I think maybe the voice lacks some effects in order to make it more present and integrated in the mix... Don't know which type though... Not a hip hop specialist either. But Nice work from you and the vocalist ! |

Thanks jazzy and rubika, I will ask WilliamK to translate it, <grin>
anyway beside the meaning of the lyrics I like how the smooth language rols over the laid back groove, I'm fashinated by that and so I missed to add effects. |

I like this tune. Great collab guys. I think the mix is fine, unless of course you want it to sound more like thumping hip hop.
Can we have a translation of the lyrics? Makes me think a bit of G Love, this kind of lazy summery rap: http://www.deezer.com/#music/result/all/special%20sauce |

Glad you like it Vim, no I don't want a "pump up the volume" track, just that it'd be clear at any volume Quote: Can we have a translation of the lyrics?
later I hope so Quote: Makes me think a bit of G Love, this kind of lazy summery rap:

Lovely, smooth sounding mix to me. Nothing too bombastic to take away from the overall feel.
Actually smooth pretty much describes the whole track for me as well, both the music and the rap. Not understanding the lyrics actually adds a layer of mystique to the track as well. |

I could try this weekend but I'll have to ask help to a brazilian friend: some words are "brazilian only" and I don't have a clue what they mean... and it's hip-hop talk, right?... Ayway, just for a start, the female talk in the beguinning: "Viu, viu, viu?..." translates for "Have you seen, have you seen..." but can also be a contraction of "(ou)viu?" "did you hear?"; the closest meaning is "got it?" "Mulheres têm interesses diversos, desejos imersos Querem flores no aniversário junto com versos no verso do bilhete E fazem piquetes para os 'órgãos' (?? doesn't make sense but that's how it sounds) Desodorantes, champô e sabonete Magali não espera nada disso Apenas abana o rabo e vira a barriga sem querer compromisso..." "Women have different interests, immerse desires They want flowers on birthday, with verses in the back of the card And they make lines to the 'organs' (?), deodorants, shampoo and soap Magali doesn't expect anything like that Just shakes the ass e turns the belly without wanting any commitment..." More or less like this ---- This and that. |

Congrats to you + Max + friends! Thanks, I hope you may dance! http://liqihsynth.com/livepack/Trumpet.adg http://liqihsynth.com/livepack/Slide.adg The presets for Live Kim (esoundz) wrote: There's a bit of build up in the lower mids. Look at reducing a bit from the piano or the bass.
The background vocals sound a bit thin, maybe reduce the highs a bit and bring back some of the mids. Also, I thought at first the rap was recorded backwards. -Kim. Thanks Kim for the tips, yes the piano could be too fat (Discovery News : portuguese sounds like backward english)he..he... Last edited by liqih on Sat Jul 19, 2008 3:08 am; edited 2 times in total |

The girl says : veo, feo (Spanish); I see, ugly (something ugly).
I've tried to contact the rapper, but his internet seems to be 'off' right now... Brasilian is very melodic and perfect to sing, because of having the accents on the right place, like in English. Not knowing the meaning of the words keeps indeed the 'mistery' around it. Personally I'm more interested in the sounds of the words and the way they're pronounced. I like a lot doing a collab with Liqih; he's got such a fine 'nose' for nice harmonies. It's quiet funny the things we come up with now, having played both guitar on the streets (when we were young and irresitably handsome). Cheers, Max... .. . ---- Carpo diem ergo sum ! |
