i try to use zyn to make original reeces, bass sounds, etc. its drum and bass aimed, lets say the noisia-type...to make things simple : hugely distorted big basses with dynamic lfos and cutoffs. these are also often made by a main sound, with secondary "hits" inside...a riddle to me.

im quite a newbie and id say that after several hours, i turned a lot of knobs, made random things, but never got something close to anything good. if i could at least combine several sines/squares/etc and detune them against each other, it would be a good start.after this, the goal would be to be able to draw knob automations somewhere....

since everybody says that its a powerful synthetizer, i suppose its completely possible.

do you have some ideas how i could go in that direction?
thanks a lot!!!

Use the adsynth section.

Edit instrument > Edit > Show Voice Parameters.

Change Voice Oscillator > Base Func to say, Chirp

Back in Voice Parameters select Voice Number 2 and enable it (top left)
Change that one's base func to Gauss
Detune it say - 18

Repeat for voice number three, but set the base func to chebvchev and detune + 10

Go back to the main editing window and reduce the sustain value to give a nice attack punch

Finally go right back to Edit instrument > Effects
and set distortion, playing special attention to Drive and Level

All done :)

Hmmm, you might like to add Alien Wah as effect number 2
It wasn't me! (well, actually, it probably was) - apparently no longer an 'elderly', now a 'senior'! Is that promotion?

i actually learned a lot, now i have to make trials.
