hi folks,
when I install a NI-plugin - does it make a difference for RECPEPTOR if I use
a) a file from a full-version installation-cd
b) a file from an UPDATE-version installation-cd
?
background:
I have the full version-cd of FM7.
I have the update-cd to FM8.
I tried to install FM8 via Direct Install.
result: it failed and I couldn't even instantiate the plugin.
got an error message...
any thoughts ?

I followed every single step via MUSE's documentation for DIRECT INSTALL.
however, when trying to instantiate the ABSYNTH 4 plugin I get the following error message:
"An internal exception occured.
Please contact support@oreans.com. Thank you"
Same with my FM8-plugin.
"An internal exception occured.

I already opened a support ticket at plugorama.
now, awaiting reply from MUSE.
PS: would be fine to have the (old-fashioned) RECEPTOR-installer for Absynth4 and FM8... Absynth3 worked this way for me...

Robert,
I could not install Akoustik Piano with Direct Install using my older install CD for installation. What I found was that I needed to go to the NI site and download the most current installer - it then did work with Direct Install. I don't know if that's the problem with Absynth and FM8, but it might be worth checking the NI site for the most recent installers. This was also the case for me with Pro 53 - or was it B4II - one of those. Good luck -
