Yeah, I know, I should try the demo, but I thought I'd see if the Collective thinks it's worth the effort.

My singing sucks so bad that I'll have to Melodyne the main vocal first anyhow. But it'd be nice if there's a way to easily lay some harmonies in for choruses sometimes.

And at $49, it's within my impulse buy range.

I bought it at AudioMIDI along with the Ultra Analog synth (and so you actually get it for $45 as an add-on).

I'm pretty impressed. With the demo, I recorded a quick vocal take, and routed it up, and it was quite convincing. I think it's a bargain...bear in mind that I'm just getting into recording vocals, so my opinion might not have a great deal of weight....but I think it sounds very good.

You can route midi from a single track for the harmonies you want (play them on a keyboard) or you can have presets of chords on the GUI that you can click or you can route seprate MIDI tracks to have more control over each line. Included with the demo are two sample projects for most major DAWs (I have Sonar). You can load them up and give a listen. They give a good idea of what's possible with the product. Personally, I was impressed by the realism.

The price is definitely right for it. I think it's a nice introductory product for Antares, since (for someone like me), I wouldn't buy their much more expensive harmony generating product. I'm amazed at what this low-cost effect can do.

Definitely give the demo a try. It was what convinced me to buy it.

This is also (together with Autotune) a fantastic tool if you're playing around with libraries like the vocal stuff from Tonehammer, etc.
Available on iTunes, Amazon, etc.

Thanks, guys!

It looks like I'll be downloading the demo and trying it out this weekend. If it's decent, I'll likely get it, considering the low price.

I wonder how it would work with a guitar solo? Maybe get that 80's harmonized twin-lead guitar thing happenin'?

It worked fine for me in Logic 8.02, but in Live 8.08 the panning controls were greyed out
which forced the original to the left channel and everything else to the right and if I am
remembering correctly not even all of those were available. I think this is most likely a
Live issue and I really enjoyed the results I was getting in Logic. I am using it for the most
part of instrumental parts (mono synths etc.) and it works well with the range selector
set to instrument and finding a proper tracking setting. And the price is certainly right!
BTW, has anyone else had a similar problem with this plug in Live?
Cheers,
Scott

I don't know how to sing, and I know even less about harmony, but what I found when testing out Harmony EFX was that it actually made it easier to hit notes while monitoring with the live harmonization. I think it makes it easier to hear what you are doing when you have something tracking your voice and providing feedback several notes up/down.
Try it out for sure!

I'd give it a go... but as it's iLok for the full product (according to A.M.), I won't even bother... what if I find it to be useful? I'd need to get an iLok  Not gonna happen :?

Same here. Only have Live so i cant test it in any other DAW, but for me i dont get the pan controls, i also just get 1 harmony.

If i test the plugin with midi chords, i just get one of the keys pressed as a harmony. Also if i use the standard modes. Right now it feels like 50 bucks thrown in the lake, but hopefully someone will fix this if its a bug.

It says on the Antares site that it doesn't work with Live. Go figure...

Hi all, been lurking a little while but first time poster here. I was thinking about this and about to make the plunge today, but just twigged that most intro prices are now gone! At full price it's probably beyond me at the moment. Anyone know of any joint still selling at the intro price? I'm in Australia, but legit overseas joints just selling auth codes would be fine.

Thanks!
