How can I get the file format specification for AMG One?

Hello Matt,

I am thinking of creating a more integrated experience between the FL edison audio editing plugin and AMG One by writing an export for FL edison to the AMG One Library as FL edison is extension via scripting. Is there some documentation on the AMG One Library file format specification available?

Thanks,

ambrosea.

It can read/use REX files yes, and has its own "proprietary" format as well. Any format it loads can be easily converted, using "save as" (its 'format' is the default).

The other problem with REX is apart from Propellerheads Recycle, what other apps or DAWs write to REX files? AMG One Solo used to support DS404 Programs as a hidden feature and I do have the file format specification for that, but I believe that was removed in AMG One, and I really don't want to use Propellerheads Recycle as FL edison does all that it does, extensible via scripting and can be used as a standalone application or a plugin giving you more of an integrated experience in your DAW.

Does the pascal scripting in Edison support export functions? It would have to be included for it to work.

What is the extension for the AMGOne format anyway? Can the file type be 'peered' into via say a text editor? If so you may be able to parse and edit the format in AHK (which is similar to pascal).

Check it out and report back..

ONE was developed by Muon, and uses Muon's Tachyon Engine. Don't know how they feel about sharing the 'code' for their format. I haven't tried any DS404 stuff in ONE, but IIRC you're right about "SOLO".

If its Muon's Tachyon Engine then I think you would need to licence their Tachyon Sample Editor if you wanted to do anything with their format.

Unfortunately the files created with TachyonS wouldn't load in ONE, even if it was available to individuals for personal use. ONE incorporates quite a few custom features that aren't in the base engine so the file formats are somewhat different. Also, the ONE samples are also encrypted or losslessly compressed so I doubt you'd be able to pull out the actual audio data.

I would have thought that the best thing to do would be to use the DS404 format as it will work in absolutely any Tachyon engine product (even if not advertised on the GUI, just select *.* "all file types" and off you go).

If you don't have the full DS404 file format documentation I can certainly send it over.

Kind regards
