Excellent song human! Keep up the good work.

Awesome catchy song! Makes me think of a cross between the band 'The The' and They Might Be Giants.

Excellent and very catchy song. Not sure if this is a feedback thread as most posts are all positive responses, but do those vocals need a bit of compression? Or am I the room darkener here? Could be my crappy earphones. :)

i think, it's a matter of taste;
i suppose, you mean the chorus 'be -els', where the 's' is barely audible.

The thing is I liked the whole thing a LOT. Just.

To me the vocals were either

1. low in the mix or
2. needed a bit of compression

but they seemed a bit thin. I sometimes think singers often are too critical of their voices and in the mixing room (or on their lappys these days) pull out their (perceived) "bad bits" or mix themselves a bit low.

No I liked the stuff so much I've downloaded the Feb songs and, as someone who's trying to learn more about this stuff, will listen to the songs on my iPod while i ride around my city's beautiful river tomorrow. :)

with 'a matter of taste' i meant this fragile kind of singing, not the song as a whole. There's a lot of oddbod stuff in the monthly contest, btw.

Top stuff, unsurprisingly. :tu:

A slight post-chorus slump is the only thing I can scrounge up to complain about. It's a pre-chorus kind of chorus, feels like it's leading somewhere big, then whump, straight back into another verse. The kazoo choir is pretty good compensation though.

Do I hear Mrs Bod in the background there?

Thanks for all the comments peoples

You do indeed, I manage to coax her every now and then into singing something.

As for the compression thing, I'll have to have a re-listen. I always compress my lead vox but not always the harmonies so you may well have a point.

Loved it :tu:
It wasn't me! (well, actually, it probably was) - apparently no longer an 'elderly', now a 'senior'! Is that promotion?
