If you liked HybridReverb, you might like it's successor HybridReverb2 even more.
It's based on a completly new code base, provides some nice manipulation features, and comes with a very similar room impulse response database (I adjusted the gain for the late reverberation a little bit). And you can use your own room impulse responses now.

This is a great thread. Sometimes we underestimate freeware. I worked on an ambient project for a client and after trying my Motu's Ethno Instrument, Spectrasonic's Atmosphere, etc, I just couldn't find the right sound/vibe.

Eventually, I did everything using my free Synth1 and ambience and Dasample Glace reverbs, and some other effects in my DAWS. The only other paid tool I used was royalty free wordless vocals. Incidentally, IMHO ambience and Dasample are two of the finest reverbs out there including commercial ones.

There's a lot of power and very high quality in some free synths and effects. I suggest folks download as many of the free stuff listed in this thread as they can. I searched for Dasample Glaceverb recently and couldn't find it. Fortunately, it was backed-up on one of my hard drives
