Just downloaded the VST freeware and FreqAnalyst AU freeware to test and found that when trying to select the plugin, Peak Pro 6 crashes. Seems to be a problem with both VST and AU plugins.
I'm using Mac OS 10.5.8 and the hardware below:
Model Name: Mac Pro
Model Identifier: MacPro1,1
Processor Name: Dual-Core Intel Xeon
Processor Speed: 3 GHz
Number Of Processors: 2
Total Number Of Cores: 4
L2 Cache (per processor): 4 MB
Memory: 9 GB
Bus Speed: 1.33 GHz
Boot ROM Version: MP11.005C.B08
If you have successfully used these plugins with this configuration, please confirm.
If you have any suggestions on how I might resolve this problem, I welcome your comments.
Thanks,
Bob

Hi,
thank you for trying our plugins. We have contacted Bias Inc. to investigate this problem, but as far as we know, the plugins work (we don't have the exact same hardware though). See below a screenshot in Peak LE 6:

Can you tell us a bit more about the crash? Does it occur with a stereo or mono file? Have you enabled a specific option in Peak Pro? Do you have the latest version?

Yes, I downloaded and re-installed the latest version [ 6.1.1 (19585)] with the following results:
Peak crashes immediately [within a few seconds] when trying to insert either a AU or VST plugin, either with or without a stereo document open at the time.
I have trashed preferences for Peak, restarted and get the same results.
I can insert Vbox 3.0 and then assign FreqAnal to a slot. However when I click edit to open FreqAnal, Peak crashes. Just to test, I did assign SoundSoapPro and used that fine in Peak.
Still stuck....
Any further suggestions of what I should try?
Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the details. Two last things that may help:
- could you send us the crash log? (when an application crash, a popup usually appears and lets you see the details of the crash. If you can copy/paste and send it to us, it might help).
- Just to check that it's related to Peak Pro and nothing else, could you try the plugins in another application (any application is fine. You can for example use GarageBand if installed on your Mac)
Thanks a lot for your help and understanding.

Thanks again. I've sent the crash report directly to support for your review.Blue Cat Audio wrote:Thanks for the details. Two last things that may help:

I also tested FreqAnalyst in GarageBand. I'm not a GB user but was able to load and view FreqAnalyst! And it was helpful to see the manual. It was only a voiceover but enough to see it work.
Thanks again for your support.

Thanks! The fact that the plugin works in another application and the report will help!

As seen by email, we now have a fix for the problem. We will build new versions of the plugins with this fix and officially release it soon.
If anyone else has the same issue (it seems to be specific to particular color schemes or display setups but we could not say for sure), please post here or PM us so that we can send you a beta version in the meantime.

Hey guys!
The reason your plugins are crashing is the 2.2 Gamma profile. If 1.8 gamma is used they work fine.
Snow Leopard for example has the 2.2 gamma enabled by default.
Had the exact same problem but with Logic and Cubase.

Thanks for the information. There was indeed a bug related to custom color schemes and this could explain it! Have you tried the new version above on your system?
