Yeah, as they say, everything looks better in slow motion, well everything sounds better in slow motion too! At least when you do it my way.Hunter wrote:I can't get over the sound produced by the simple act of dramatically stretching short rendered sections of tunes, reversing them, flipping them, etc. Ace.
But if you want to know what I really think and always thought, it's that when the methods of analysis and synthesis get perfected to the point you can't tell the "lossless mode" from the non-lossless, it will make directly processing sound waves obsolete (except for the sake of performance/lack of delay of course/traditional effects that are easier to do on samples) as you'll be able to do anything that's possible (and even previously thought impossible) by only manipulating the image and disregarding the original sound wave. What you see here is a low-fi preview of things to come, and also an incomplete preview, because at that point imagination is the true obstacle, knowing what to do with that becomes the real problem. I've tried things (most of which I've posted on the site's blog) but there's a lot more outlandish things yet to think up and try. A shame I get so little creative feedback from users, it's like I'm the only one really trying to explore this thing at the moment.
