One can use a 64bit OS yet still running a 32bit host or DAW with 32bit plugins and overcome the memory limitations by separating the plugs via jBridge and making use of > 4 GB ram even with a 32bit host.
This is definitely a useful general finding beyond the initial questions that can be valuable to everyone.
