I have been trying to figure out how to install the vst-version of the ZynAddSubFX with Windows. I just want to use it with Fruityloops.
Could somebody please make a step by step guide for the installation of the synth, that even total noobs understand. If it was posted also on the downloadsite or in the downloadpack the installation would go much faster.
I think i'm not the only one who didn't no what to do with the files.

Basic installation:
1. Copy the ZynAddSubFX.dll to the folder where Fruityloops keeps its VST plugins (I haven't used FL so I don't know the path)
2. Copy the zynaddsubfxXML.cfg to the same location
3. Copy folders 'Banks' to the same location. If you still can't access the instruments try copying the 'Banks' folder to 'C:\Program Files\ZynAddSubFx' (though I think that is not really required
)
Try then to load ZynAddSubFX.dll within your host.
More advanced:
Edit the zynaddsubfxXML.cfg:
- put your ASIO buffer size in the line <par name="sound_buffer_size" value="512"/>
(replace 512 with your actual ASIO buffer size, for best performance)
To eliminate the artifacts to your hosts Interface (in case you notice them, and they bother you
) use the wrapper as indicated in this post: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 24#3836424. Unfortunately this could have some impact to sound in dual-core processor setups (because vsthost and your host are separated threads). Try that on your own. It works better when I disable multicore support in my host, when I use Legree and VstHost to wrap Zyn.
Also there may be problems when loading multiple instances, and crashes when unloading the vst (haven't really tested it in Fruity Loops.. so I don't know). I know this is a serious issue, but the linux porting is not perfect, and unfortunately I seem to be unable to fix all issues (nor have the time to make further investigations
).
