linplug recently released their new synth morphox with shining reviews but I'd like to hear what your views of it are if anyone has used it. I make progressive and electro house with Reason and Ableton. I love the Thor synth in Reason and I use Rob Papen Predator in Ableton quite a lot. Does anyone think Morphox would improve on these in capability and in relation to my genre?? If anyone can enlighten me I'd be greatful, thanks.

And you want to hear which genre MorphoX can be used, check out the Demosongs, they're quite different...

You can listen to the Demosongs on the MorphoX website from LinPlug and please, install the Flashplayer to listen to them...

I tried the MorphoX demo and did not purchase it..........But as said earlier try the demo yourself, that's the only way you'll be able to tell if MorphoX is for you or not. Shrug

It was not so much "dislike" as unimpressed. Shrug Keep in mind I own just about every synth from Albino to Zebra 2 so it's getting harder and harder to impress me lately but for example I just purchased Dune and will be keeping an eye on ElectraX................... Cool

But again the OP should try the MorphoX demo himself (unless there is a reason he can't). His opinion might be completely opposite of mine..........

Sorry, you compare synth who are much too different, the OP should ask next time which "synthdemo" he should impress from the main presets are demosongs, it has really nothing to do with the synth itself, he just searched for something which impressed him...

Well, Prism is a totally different synth compared to MorphoX, Prism is a physical modelling synthesizer and MorphoX is a subtractice synth with the morphing features, this is totally different, guys...!

Me too. It's a great sounding pretty easy to program, quite flexible (via modulation matrix) "little" synth with a major trick up it's sleeve: the Morphing wheel. Morphing crazy arpeggiated sounds is awesome. Love

I really liked the MorphoX demo. Just like the OP I also already own Predator. In case you might see this as "I do already have a good VA, do I really need another one?", I think that you appreciate different synths for different things, like features, handling and sound even if they do have the same synthesis. I think MorphoX can really shine with certain sounds, when morphing between the different stages of A and B.

If you just looking for a synthesizer that will bring you more of bread & butter sounds, you might not want to reach for MorphoX, but it can do that too.

I'm also into getting one new synth for Christmas and so far it's up between MorphoX, FireBird+ and the Wavestation. All 3 totally different and hard to compare, but I really like them all for a reason. I'm still running the demos of all of them, tweaking them to the limits to see if I buy any or none at all.

Sorry Frank you're not able to be impartial when it comes to MorphoX. Don't fear comparisons with other synths just because you didn't get them for free or didn't do sound design for them............

Teksonik, Dune is imho nothing special either, stock synth but fun to use and program, versatile too. But sound is standard, it's ok
