Hi all,

Anyone tested the new Vitalizer MK2-T plug-in of SPL? I own a hardware Vitalizer Jack, which I like, but I would love to go native. The problem is I can't test the plug-in because you need an ILok dongle.
By the way, can anyone recommend me some alternatives for this plug-in?

One of my best purchases this year. But you really do need to get to know how to coax the best out of it. Check out the user reviews over at Gear Slutz, most people other than the die-hard hardware bods rate it highly.

Thanks metrosonic and bump.

There's also the excellent BBE Sonic Maximizer which does a very similar thing. It uses iLok too though. Anyone know if it is iLok only?

Well, I bought the I-Lok some months ago to test the Vitalizer. Compared to my hardware Vitalizer the plug-in version sucks (in my opinion).

I really love Vitalizer MK2-T plugin soundwise (bought it a few days ago to special discount price), although I don't know how the hardware sounds.
I'm surprised that there is not more hype about it.

You can't do much wrong here to get a good sound (except to overdo it).
Manual is clear laid out, offers much background and good starting tipps for beginners.

Maybe you can get same results with traditional EQs and exciters, but not so quick in time (concept is very well thought out).

Although special discount is gone, 149€ is still cheaper than the original 239€.

...and bass treatment feels like a one-knob Pultec :hihi:

I'm not sure what it's exact purpose is? Is it like a hope-for-wonders plugin for bad mixes, or old recording restorations?

Exactly, I think you nailed it
Try it (demo needs no iLok).

A very good Plug-In, great for seperating low mids from subbass frequencies and you can really change the behaviour of the low end (more punchy or softer transients), adds more transparency, enhancement of high frequencies has to be done carefully though. And it comes in 5.1 as well which good for finalizing filmscores sometimes.
