My Miditech Garagekey won't work with OS X (on a Mac Mini).
I've seen something that may suggest it doesn't work with an Intel Mac (if this is so, how can a company sell something antiquated and incompatible and not make explicit mention of it) or a specific driver is needed for Intel Macs - but there is no driver supplied with nor can I find on on their web site.
Anybody have one of these and had any problems with it and found the solution?

The GarageKey is plug and play compliant with OS X USB-MIDI. No midi drivers required for OSX.
Are you sure you're selecting it as your midi in device in the software that you are using?

Fairly sure - I'm trying to diagnose this remotely for my father (he's new to midi, but very experienced with Mac, so not a doddering oap befuddled by technology).
He's trying to run the eMedia Piano training software, which from the looks of it doesn't appear to list the midi inputs (but it does list the midi outputs for some reason). But with no success.
So he's been attempting to use GarageBand to first confirm the keyboard is functioning. I ran up GarageBand myself on my Mac and it doesn't look like it lists the midi inputs either, and when I use it it seems to auto detect whatever midi input you have.
In the Utilities folder is the audio midi setup tool - this can detect the keyboard (but apparently only when plugged in via the computer's keyboard's usb port, not any of the mac mini's use ports, which in itself seems strange).
I was thinking a good next step would be to find some midi analysis tool that can list the input devices and analyse/display the received midi events. Any recommendations for a good free tool like this?

Just got a brandnew 27" iMac. The Garagekey USB keyboard doesn't work. It's recognized in systemProfiler, Audio-Midi Setup, GarageBand and Logic. But no Midi is coming in. When I plug it into my MacBook Pro, it works immediately. I know the Garagekey doesn't work with some 3rd party USB hubs, maybe for lack of enough power, but it works always at the internal USB hubs with the MacBook Pro. Why doesn't it with the 27" iMac? I'm cueless...
The IMac Systemprofiler says: Current Available (mA) 500, Current Required (mA) 300. So I guess, it can't be a power problem?
