He's never mentioned what samples he uses.

What we do now is how he works. For starters, Burial doesn't use a sequencer, he makes his music in Sound Forge which is a wave audio editor - like Cool Edit, Wave Lab, Audacity etc. Which means that he makes his music from manipulating wave files and his tracks don't rigidly fit to a regular grid like on a traditional sequencer.

Think of how old school dub producers used multi-track tape machines creatively to make completely new beats. That's how he works the wave editor.

There is no such thing as a "Dubstep synth". You can use any synth to make dubstep as long as it makes sound.

In fact you don't even need a Synth, there are cats like Burial who mostly use samples.

Thank you Sir! I'm very confused by all the negativity surrounding this Synth. I don't know about you guys, but when I purchase a synth, I don't feel forced to make the kind of music they use in the advertisement.

I'm as annoyed by Dubstep as I was Electro House when it was popular, but it doesn't mean this synth is only good for one thing.

I think it's a remarkable synth considering that every synth that comes out lately is subtractive. I'm getting tired of vintage looking UI's and emulations of synths made 20 years ago.

I applaud NI for their efforts to think outside the box. It's good to think 'outside the box'.

No, i was more commenting on the fact that i only need a wav editor. 2 daws and maschine is clearly surplus to requirements.

If you really want this functionality now and don't mind tinkering, here is a howto. This is a goofy way to do it, it just reopens the window for you after a moment... The GUI and switching is quite complicated and I didn't find any other way easy enough to put into a forum post.

1) Go to the synth panel, hit the wrench, right click on the mouse area (grey box) over OSC1 and choose show in structure.

2) Locate two things: On the left, a Mouse Area connected to an M (merge) module. On the right side, a Router connected to a Snap Value.

3) Create this little structure below all the existing stuff.

4) Connect the output of the Router module you found before to the top input of the Value you made.

5) Connect the top output of your NOT to a new port on the merge module (control-drag from the output of the NOT to the bottom of the merge to make a new port).

6) Repeat for the other sections you want to stick open, it should work for any of the 7 sections.

When you want to close it, just hit cancel. It will keep your selection.

I guess I will assume that this is not true, because how could something so drastic go unscorned on kvr?
Whats Burial eat for cereal anyway?

Does the dev care to mention that his LFOs are on time?

but,

I can only assume this is an NI April Fools joke.

They release what they allow to be called 'a dubstep synth', and create a slick 'dubstep demo video', and then release it with LFOs not accurate to even four bars...?

How in the hell did the demo guy not notice this...???
Oh, he didnt do anything longer than eight beats...

I will wait for the update.
