sssshhhhh.... don't let ik multimedia hear this. apparently they feel there is no competition.

personally, it's audiffex amplion that is nailing it these days.

I checked it out briefly in Reaper & it does sound really good. But it crashes Ableton Live at startup when scanning plugins. Live later reports that the s-Gear plugin caused a run time error & will be put off line. There's also a problem in Reaper with the GUI being cut off at the bottom when expanding it to gain access to the Cab & delay section. It seem to work when you have the plugin run as a separate process. Probably just a few teething problems.

Plus according to this: http://www.kvraudio.com/get/4929.html
there should be a 64-bit version but there isn't, at least not with the Demo version.

I have to agree!! The dynamics are incredible!!! It's not just that it cleans up when rolling back volume but how smoothly and convincingly it does so. Ridiculously good 8)

And...the "Stealer" amp is more Marshall than ANYTHING else I've heard in a VST. I'm only 20 minutes into the demo and I'm already confused with the delight and wonder

I'll be trying it soon enough, thanx for your report susiwong :) Question though, can you authorize it the way you want to without going online...I dont have an issue with that but I know and understand your concerns ;)
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

I had the same in Reaper, put it in another host, Orion which worked fine, opened again in Reaper and now all is good.

Good question, Hink .
Yes, you can !
Classic C/R.
There is also an installation guide where you find the demo.

Worth noting the demo is without any noise/dropouts which helps immensely :tu:, only a nag screen whenever you open the UI.
Looks like I'll have to make ends meet with only three amps in the future  .
Cheers,
susiwong

Good for them ...
Didn't know that, of course nothing else matters if that's the case. :P

I'll try that one, too, if there's a demo.

EDIT: There's even a free version, nice ! :tu:

Cheers,

Nope, triangles are Dean's new toy.
Or something similar, not hellish enough, so he's afraid a coming out might ruin his monstrous reputation. :P
May the Lord of Darkness look away ... :scared:

now you got me picturing dean at the back of the orchestra, cigarette hanging out of his mouth daintily holding a triangle ready to play

and of course there I am sneaking up behind him with a pair of cymbals

Yes, the dynamics ...
Another great aspect is the absence of aliasing and these ugly microartifacts when a note is fading out, that was my main problem with previous attempts at emulating Marshalls, maybe the trick was aiming for a Park instead :P (joking).
Now you can actually use rolled back volume to smooth out the tone (passive guitars without treble bleed cap) like on a real amp. Nice !

Might sound weird, but to me the limitation to a smaller number of really good cab/mic combinations is in fact a bonus - I easily get lost in too many options.
And arguably the classics are mostly included. :tu:

I'm gonna have another wee play with it later. Is anyone else using Ableton Live 8 in Windows? Just wanna verify if anyone else's having the crashing problem.
