I like this topic, but in your first post, why do you have this restriction?
All music apps (except Party Time) require that AndExplorer "a free file browser available online" be installed or the application will force close.

Hi ZombyWoof,

This is because I made my apps with App Inventor. In order to "pick" files you have to use a third party program. The one Google recommends is AndExplorer.

You can download AndExplorer here http://www.lysesoft.com/products/andexplorer/

Thanks. God Bless.

Hi,

I am trying to create a list of apps I can use in case I get a Kindle Fire. My first choice is an iPad, but depending on circumstances I may get a Fire.

Thanks. God Bless.

Hi,

Here is one more from another thread.

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.bti.myBeatBox

Although the recording part of the app won't work on a Kindle Fire obviously because:
[Kindle Fire (first generation)] apps cannot require a gyroscope, camera, WAN module, Bluetooth, microphone, GPS, or micro-SD to function
Thanks. God Bless.

It's a reasonable complaint.
Sure, but this is only part of the truth. If you look at how many apps really need a latency below 20ms then you'll see that there aren't that many in the app store. Most musical apps just create sounds or sequences by dragging things around or by arranging loops and samples somehow. There is no need for ultra low latency audio there. Same goes for control surfaces and remotes - you don't need low latency audio to send a network package.

This latency discussion always reminds me of Windows where it took Microsoft almost 20 years to add a usable low latency interface to the OS. I'm still hoping that someone will create a technology to get around Android's restrictions like Steinberg did with ASIO on Windows.
