I'm back on the wagon after a long draught and this is the first thing to come out of it. Pleased with the result (and that my first venture into FL Studio after well over a year ended up with an actual song and not just an unfinished and unnamed project).

EDIT: Well, it looks like the Kiwi account is suddenly back, I'll leave it for now and hope it was something temporary...

Strange track. I like the changes. Has a sort of 'going to war' film theme flavour.
It wasn't me! (well, actually, it probably was) - apparently no longer an 'elderly', now a 'senior'! Is that promotion?

I rather felt that this would have made a good opening credits soundtrack to a Stephen King movie. Nice track. 8)

Thanks for listening guys! Did the mix sound ok on your systems?

Oh, and if anyone has alternatives for Kiwi6 (see my edited OP) please share.

very unusual track - i really like it. it has a great cinematic feel without being ott or bombastic.

as for the mix, well it sounded great here, although i would have pushed the bass a bit (i'm a bit of a bass whore :D ) and maybe added a bit more 'warmth'...whatever the hell that is!

overall an intriguing piece of music. i look forward to hearing more.

neil.

p.s. don't look now, but you're being followed

Weird! I like it! I agree with macmurphy, needs maybe a little more bass and it'll be perfect.

Hmm. I've been using kiwi6 for over 7 months now. Barring a couple of server outages (that I noticed), I have found them to be pretty reliable. Their support people have always got back to me pretty quickly as well.

No reply from them as of yet, maybe I'll try registering again.

You'll be pleased to hear I'm working on something new which so far is BAAAASS in large amounts. I need to set up my monitoring so I can hear deeper bass when mixing though, it's a bit of a hassle otherwise.

I usually get a reply from them within 4-5 hours.

Hmm, no reply, but my account is suddenly back and my MP3 is still there. I guess I'll let it go for now and hope this was just a glitch in the system.

EDIT: Oh, and thanks for listening McM and E!

Interesting bit of work here. I'm kind of partial to this piece actually, seems to fit the cinematic scenario very well. One quibble I have is that it could use a bit more bass in it..but not that much...good variety of tone here.

Totally missed your reply trimph, but thanks for listening and commenting!

It's nothing like this piece, but for BASS you should listen to my other track, "Piano in the bassment" :)

How interesting. Sort of a structured style with a rather menacing vibe. The sound palette is great... reminds me of The Beatles. The mix sounds a little odd to me... almost like low mids are crowding out the bass. Anyhow, very cool track!

+1

interesting and engaging vibe throughout.. the mix muddied the listen for me a lil bit.. i dont like how you ended the track though.. maybe the last few notes or drum rolls could be extended/delayed out a lil more with a fade atleast.. purely personal choice though.

Really nice, original stuff. Can't comment on the mix really (listening on earbuds) but I like the musical ideas :tu:
