In a rare moment of seriousness by me here at KVR, since coming to Japan last August, the (female) musician who has impressed me most is Yui:
There's undoubtedly better singers and guitarists out there, but she is cool.

There's nothing strange about liking Boyz II Men better than any of those acts.

I heard a Rihanna song for the first time the other day - or rather for the first time heard it knowing who it was - I was in HMV with my daughter and this terrible song came on that I'd heard before and thought god that's terrible but didn't know who did it and my daughter told me who it was and I said "so that's Rihanna". Really it was just an awful autotuned mess.

That's why I said the remix of 'We Found Love' is a minimal masterpiece. They took the autotune off her voice and she really shines. However I can't enjoy it as they play the horrible single version every ten minutes on the radio here.
I really wish someone would autotune this old man.
Florence Foster Jenkins is my new favorite and I bet her dinner parties were the stuff of legends.................

If you don't like J-Lo, try a really good Belgian chocolate mousse.
