The free MLimiter is also turning out to be a saviour for me.
I couldn't get limiting done well on some masters tracks, which had a lot a loud snares peaking out. This ment that the limiters would always decapitate the snares if I wanted to bring up the general levels. All limiters I tried squashed the sound of the snares and made the whole thing sound really compressed and muffled.
But MLimiter managed to pull it of. It was able to raise the levels of the tracks, but the snares kept their snap and punch. Well done. In in the same session, the MNotepad thingy tunred out handy as well.
