My DAW is on a WinVista computer i inherited from my son, it is a few years old now but doing a fine job for me, it has 4 GB RAM, dual-core system and i use a USB Line 6 gearbox audio input, very simple but works well. Anyhow since I am not starting from scratch what can I do to maximize performance without jeopardizing the stability of the current install? I am really not in the mood to start from scratch, and really it is pretty solid and I don't even usually go past 8 tracks in most projects. But still, the more power that is free for the DAW the better. Thanks in advance!

Thanks, I have to set aside some time and go through that step by step.
