V'ger wrote: Shame with the issues Cjohs, are there no tricks in Ableton to run plugins differently you could try? Finally got my track to work again - this is how I did it: I saved a copy of my dysfunctional Set and then deleted all of the tracks except the bassdrum track and then undid (ctrl+z) the deletion of the tracks one by one expecting to locate the track (with fx etc.) which caused the trouble - however when I was back to all tracks and the problem did not resurface I have no idea why this worked though... So I am rather confident that I will be able to finish my track before the deadline without any further problems And thanks for all the suggestions. |

It would be great if Helix was offered as a prize in this competition... Someone should let (Helix creator) Jonas Norberg know that this is happening. Here's his Twitter account, his KVR profile and the Audjoo forum. |

Shame there isn't easy tempo syncing in the gui (unless I'm missing something obvious), but this online delay calculator is quite useful. . Hi MarkHeath I believe there is at least for the LFO's - I've fiddled with the interface also - if you click the small blue square next to the phase, it turns green and sync to host tempo becomes available (though the teext isn't really readable on my screen yup, works on the delays too. On the delay??? How do you do that, I can't see it on the delay... ? I apparently imagined this... Sorry! |

You have to set it up manually in the modulation matrix. PitchW to O0-Pitch. Then repeat for all the active oscillators. To set exact value (for example 2 semitones), click the number box top right to enter manually.
About contacting the developer that has already been tried via both email and PM without result. |

Thanks for the info mate, I'm shocked to hear that the retail version has this limitation also. Won't be buying that in a hurry |

Well most synths has a window to set pitch bend range so not that much difference, this just gives more flexibility.
The patches already made forgot to include pitch bend. Just make an init patch with pitch bend already set up and it's all done for future sounds. |

Yeah, I got frustrated trying to program pitch bend and mod wheel, but I'm glad I gave the original programming a chance! Some patches had filter cutoff assigned to the mod wheel, and it opened me up to some great musical choices. Sometimes the quirkiness of a synth's programming can help you think outside the box. In the end I got the pitch and LFO control I needed for my lead patch, and I was happy! |

Hi all,
When I first saw the GUI of Helix I didn't like it. Too small and very unusual. But I got used to it and I found out that huge potential of this synth. I realy wonder why I had not heard of this before. It is one of the best freeware synth I ever played and it can compete to many commercial synth. Thanks for showing the Helix to us !!! Now here is my song. It is different to my previous songs. More my favorite style of electronic music. Photonic - beyond horizon 24 tracks in cubase 5 essential FX: Classic delay, NastyDelay, IxonDelay Classic Compressor, DensitiymkII, Rescue, Loudmax EpicVerb BootEQmkII, Electri-Q Span BTW: some real good entries till now. Well done folks! cheers, Photonic ---- soundcloud.com/photonic-1 |

Thank you V'ger ! First I wanted to name the song "Van-Helix", but then I choosed a name wich is not related so much to the synth. The secrets of the snare sound is to find the right mid-frequency in the EQ and to add some 1/64 and 1/32 delays to let the snare roll like a marching snare sounds. cheers, Photonic ---- soundcloud.com/photonic-1 |
