Although it might vary for other machines a bit, for me one mic position uses 154 MB of RAM, and all three positions use 466 MB.

That isn't really so bad. If you have a fast hd, you might be able to lower your ram usage (if you need to) by adjusting your Kontakt settings. See Alex Pfeffer's recent post on YouTube:

"Budget version" and "free Kontakt player" are mutually exclusive terms because of the stiff license fees charged by Native Instruments. Won't happen, unless NI change their ways and the moon becomes a cheese.NightofNi wrote:A "budget version" for the free Kontakt player would be appreciated
