Synthedit Polyphony

I'm having trouble with the polyphony in synthedit.

I have a container playing noise set to a maximum polyphony of 1 note, and another container parallel to it in the main structure so that when I play chords the number of instances of noise doesn't build up. now when I send the signals from both into a filter, though I am sending the gate signal from the polyphonic container to the filter envelope the filter envelope doesn't copy to the new signal. So holding down a second note isn't filtered like the first.

I have tried filtering the whole signal just before the Sound Out module but that duplicates the whole signal and with every note played the signal volume doubles. If I put the CV to MIDI converter in the main structure then I can't set the polyphony of the containers separately. Does anyone know a solution to this problem?
Confused

also I tried putting the filter inside the noise and controlling it with the gate from another container, the frequency of the cutoff increases on the noise with every note.

publish a screenshot or a prefab.
a typical project should be built like this :
main container including :
- a mono container
- a poly container with no container inside (you can containerize knob etc)
- a patch automator

the main container must have only midi input and audio input/output.
container outside are not authorized. (read the SE FAQ)

i guess it's your main container, i don't see patch automator.
so, it's the problem described previously : remove content from container.

i've moved towards putting all my GUI objects in
a main 'GUI' container, so i can concentrate on the
signal path separately...and i'm still not sure how
to assign polyphony! some things, specifically, must
be monophonic, such as LFO.
'think a general re-cap could be useful at this point,
eg: examples/exceptions.

"...and i'm still not sure how to assign polyphony!"
the only poly setting must be applied to the 'midi to cv'

an example of my root container, a bit rough (it's the curent synth i'm working) : http://www.novaflash.com/temp/polymono.png
MODULATOR is mono = LFO, EG etc one 'midi 2 cv' set to mono inside
POLY is... poly = VCO, VCF etc one 'midi 2 cv' set to poly inside
FX2 is mono = delay, VCF etc NO 'midi 2 cv' inside
EG1, EG2, MAIN are only GUI

so you're literally telling me that the patch automator and the sound in out and midi in should be the only modules in the main structure, while subbing everything else into one container? Confused

you need a main plugin container. put everything in that.
not the sound module or midi in. they should be outside
on the main synthedit page. then create a keyboard module
in main window, and connect to midi in of main container,
so you can trigger from your pc keyboard+via midi.
if your vca outputs are connected to L/R outs on the container,
then to sound module, it should produce sound.

inside your main container, you can arrange things any way you
want, pretty much, but it makes sense to put sections inside
their own containers.(VCO,mix,LFO,EG,whatever...).

if you then put all your gui controllers in a GUI container, sending
cables out to all the elements of your synth, that will be easy to
manage, and is the only container where you'll need to set automation
properties. and only its content will respond to 'pc'(program change).

all your other 'processing' containers can be 'ignore PC', because
they are connected to the GUI, where all the patchmem modules are.
and these 'processing' containers are where you have to get the
polyphony right.(LFO, poly=1 ; osc poly=?6, etc.)

in this main container are also: the midi to cv, a patch module.
(this is my very basic understanding/use of the midi to cv module)

Ok, I got the filter cutoff issue with the noise signal, apparently I needed to put a whole new instance of the filter into the noise OSC container. If anyone has any ideas to make it more efficient let me know.

Even with all that done Now I'm having an issue with my EG not decaying to the sustain level. I have the ASDR values of my FEG routed into an EG set with the Noise OSC's polyphony settings under the Noise OSC in order to maintain a consistent cutoff frequency like so.

you can give your waveform osc and your noise osc separate
level controls and send them both to a filter input so you
only use one filter.

to control cutoff via both a cutoff setting and a VCF EG,
send outputs of both cutoff knob and vcf eg to cutoff input.
give your eg an amount control by connecting a level control
to the eg level pin.
