I'd like to know how deep I can get this to work in my live rig.
Thanks People!
I would bet a nut that what your asking will never happen on an iPad 3 (if indeed it is the 3 that's being announced next week) as nothing exists to emulate anything windows based, or even anything to host Apples own Audio Unit virtual instrument format.TechM3X wrote:Is there a host available that would allow you to run windows based VSTi's??

I really hope they don't. It would force me to buy the damn thing.itsDavidAbraham wrote:I'd bet a few bucks that Apple is planning a full blown version of Logic X and MainStage for iPad, including all or many of the synths..accelerated by the GPU.
It is only a matter of time before they do this. But at what level of depth could they take it- and still only sell it for $4.99 like Garageband iOS I don't know. I think Mainstage iOS would be freaking awesome- Logic would be cool but MS is my first hope.itsDavidAbraham wrote:I'd bet a few bucks that Apple is planning a full blown version of Logic X and MainStage for iPad, including all or many of the synths..accelerated by the GPU.
Theres going to have to be limitations there. IOS dosnt allow plugins so it wont be as full as you might like. Thats why current apps are standalone. There is one app that has limited plugins but they are compiled into the app itself so they arnt seperate plugins.itsDavidAbraham wrote:I'd bet a few bucks that Apple is planning a full blown version of Logic X and MainStage for iPad, including all or many of the synths..accelerated by the GPU.
Right but since logic already comes with all those bundles plugins they can simply include them as part of the universal binary. The GarageBand for iOS app kind of foreshadows thisUltraJv wrote:Theres going to have to be limitations there. IOS dosnt allow plugins so it wont be as full as you might like.
